Barcode (2010)

This feature-length art film/documentary explores the work of Austrian land artist Christian Schneider and Austrian conductor, composer and cello virtuoso Christian Schulz of Vienna Symphony Orchestra. The two artists perform and improvise land art and music in the Austrian landscape - Starting out from the barcode symbol standing for industrial revolution, aggressive capitalism and total monitoring of the modern citizen, they playfully recreate the barcode symbol in natural environment and even locate the symbol in natural forms, only to discover that nature has its very own philosophy of economics.
