In the city of Ilium, the rock band Vain struggles to survive in the bowels of the city. Led by egotistical singer Kyle, the band of misfits play mediocre music to get by. But one night, a routine gig turns awry when Kyle is viciously attacked by vampires. Left for dead in an alley, Kyle is rescued by his fellow band mates, and when he recovers from his injuries, he discovers his new power... The power of music.
