Two sex scenes; neither graphic. A woman's nipple is briefly visible in one. A teenage girl is seen in her underwear, and an adult male shirtless. A woman tries to seduce one man and is only slightly more successful with another, but no sex or nudity on either occasion. A man drops his trousers and pushes an unsuspecting woman's face into his genital area. His bottom is exposed.

A man is badly beaten by another punching his face. Gun threats and a shooting. A teenage girl is hosed down by her father as punishment. A child is shown after being beaten by classmates. He has a black eye.

The version I saw was subtitled. Fuck, shit and arse were used, with variants. There is also verbal abuse of (but not directly at) Jewish, black, and gay people, and Germans.

A early scene is a party with heavy drinking. There is some further drinking later but to a lesser extent, and references to smoking.

The theme of significant mental illness is tackled head on. The physical decline of a character is also upsetting. Both are made more challenging by being witnessed by children.
