On a country road in Chiloe, a Chilean island in the south of the world, a procession of people dressed in black walks behind an old wooden cart pulled by a horse towards a small chapel. The procession is led by a woman crying inconsolably. Once inside the chapel, when the priest begins the mass, this woman starts to see images of the life of the deceased. It is only at the end of this series of images that the meaning of the story is revealed...
