The Past and Pending (2011)

A decision to move a family from Puerto Rico to Florida caused unexpected anger and strain based on a lack of communication. Almost 20 years later, Sam Torres, the filmmaker and the youngest of four children in the family, has decided to revisit the event as a documentary. In an attempt to gain closure and reopen a flow of communication, he conducts new interviews with his three siblings, mother and father. This deeply personal film gives a candid portrayal of psychological family dynamics and the decisions that can build or destroy trust. It's a film about a man asking the questions he always wanted to ask as a child. But now he has the foresight to record the answers.
