Far-West Amazônia (2012)

In a distant spot in Amazon, only a short dented road connects ten or so farmer families, making up a community isolated from the rest of the world. Those families arrived from all over Brazil some thirty years ago, encouraged by the Amazonian dream of being owners of a parcel of land: a small piece oh this huge Amazon. In order to produce - and survive - in this ungrateful an scarcely fertile land, these small farmers had to endlessly burn and encroach on the forest, contributing significantly to the Amazonian deforestation. But now, when one must struggle every day to survive, may someone conciliate personal and general interests, and keep necessity from taking over reason?
