The Budgie (1995)

The Budgie is the bittersweet tale of a shy young country lad and his first encounter with love in the city. On his first visit to his girlfriends parents house he gets the impression that they are a little strange. After a mild interrogation from her mother, he is encouraged to bond with their budgie by her father. However, after the bird is temporarily released from his cage, things start to go wrong, and the father has cause to regret his earlier efforts to get the lad to take an interest in the budgie.
