The Abandoned State

The Abandoned State, chronicles the post-apocalyptic life of a boy and his mother isolated inside their home, trying to remain safe from what lurks outside. Lydia,mother to an only son, does what she can to make it in a world that has changed forever. Once having a family that was torn apart by events that altered mankind; she relives the past in her memory and holds on to those who have moved on. She briefly experiences superficial love for a stranger who doesn't understand her. Feeling alone, even with her son still by her side, Lydia must eventually come face to face with a reality so grim and heartbreaking that it could make anyone give up the hope they once had.
