No sex or nudity. There are three or four occasions of chaste kissing on the lips, and one scene were two characters are shown in bed together but nothing is seen and the are clothed. Main female character wears skimpy outfits but not in an overtly sexual way.

One scene where a character gets stabbed with a knife and you see the knife enter his side and some blood. One scene were one character chases two other characters with a knife but they get away. One scene were two male characters fight and one character ends up killing the other with a blow from a crow bar. You don't see the impact you only hear it, then see the injured character laying on the ground holding his stomach. One scene where a character drinks poison and dies. One scene where a character stabs themselves with glass and dies. Overall it is true to the romeo and juliet story so you do see the characters die, but it is done with less special effects, gore and drama as a typical american film would have. But it is slightly intense and gritty nonetheless.

None though there is some yelling and arguments.

Characters are often seen drinking or carrying a beer. Alcohol features a lot and one character is shown vomiting from too much alcohol while others stumble as they walk from too much alcohol. During a wedding ceremony the priest drinks wine straight from the bottle. Characters are shown smoking cigarettes.

The ending scenes can be quite intense for young children considering the story of romeo and juliet (they kill themselves for love).
