Potato Heads: Keepers of the Crop (2010)

Filmmaker and professor Larry Engel travels from the great northern plains of Minnesota (where a small town pays tribute to all things potato once a year during August) to the high Andes of Peru where ancient rituals are still followed by traditional farmers (who face severe pressure from climate change and international agriculture policy). The film takes a humor but serious look at food resilience and the importance of "place-based" knowledge.
