Matches (2011)

Matches visualizes small moments in the lives of five characters of varying ages, who question the expectation and definition of growing old. The unusual pairing of two characters on a road trip intersects with a family searching for unity and joy. Each character, overcoming a loss of some kind, is forced to make choices as they reevaluate their views on family, identity, and independence. Matches mixes documentary-like realism with traditional narrative fiction, and elements of fantasy & magical realism.
