Basie (1961)

Gordon Vorster returns to familiar territory--'Basie' is similar in many respects to his earlier film 'Die Vlugteling' (1960). This time around, a young Ducktail* unwittingly kidnaps a young bride and then falls in love with her. *Ducktails: "a white youth-gang subculture which emerged within post-Second World War South Africa. Rebellious, hedonistic, apolitical, and showing little respect for the law, education or work."
