According to a 2003 national happiness and overall life satisfaction study by Eurobarometer, Estonians were among the last within 27 European Union member states preceding only Bulgaria and Romania. With last seven years the percentage of happy people in Estonia has drastically increased. It is being talked about in public media, it is being widely popularised through happiness polls in shopping centres and we have a one of the kind Bank of Happiness. However, upon returning home after several years abroad, artist Minna Hint, senses that this so called gross national happiness is not reflected in her friends of whom many are deeply depressed. Is happiness predetermined by the DNA or is it also accessible to everybody?
