Death of an Imam (2011)

'Death of an Imam' critically examines news reporting and the events associated with the FBI's shooting of Imam Luqman Ameen Abdullah on October 28, 2009. From the FBI sting operation at a Dearborn Michigan warehouse to the raid on Imam Luqman's mosque, the documentary brings into focus the first killing of a Muslim religious leader by the US government. The documentary uses news footage, shots on location, and interviews with local activists, community members, journalists, and an FBI agent to explore the issues at the core of the incident, such as the allegations of a terrorism conspiracy, the use of FBI informants, and Muslims in the US mainstream media.
