North Carolina author Reynolds Price has been teaching at Duke University for 51 years, spanning his entire career as a writer. This documentary explores the roots, subject matter, influences, and changes in his teaching career, through original and archival materials. With interwoven excerpts of his own writing and testimonials from former students, including other well-known writers, a complex portrait is revealed of a man who truly loves the art of teaching literature.
