In Architecture of Home we visit four different flats in former Union blocks in Reykjavik and learn about the relationship between the apartments and the inhabitants through their common everyday life. We follow how the inhabitants have ensconced in their small, but functionally designed flats, comfortably sheltered from the chaotic excess outside, characterizing Icelandic society before the financial crises. By focusing on details in the everyday life the film reveals what we always have in front of our eyes but never pay attention to. If you look close enough, the most ordinary things can become extraordinary.
