Evert Schuit is a somewhat dorky, small town bank employee at the start of the 1990's. After the fall of the iron curtain he brings in Nadia, a mail-order bride from the Ukraine. Insecure about his accomplishments in life he lies to her about his status and poses as a wealthy banker. A rich Western-European woman now, Nadia starts spending guilders as soon as her plane hits the ground. Her body she keeps to herself, though, until after marriage. In order to keep up his lie, the sexually frustrated Evert starts embezzling money from the bank and getting away with it, since nobody's really checking. A couple of days before the wedding, though, two men enter the bank with a computer; all records need to be digitized in order to prevent fraud and mistakes. Afraid that his scheme will come to light before he has the chance to consummate his relationship with Nadia, Evert confides in his shady neighbor Dirk. Together they plot a bank-robbery. Dirk will steal all bank-records and they will destroy the evidence of Evert's malpractices. Dirk, however, turns out to be cleverer then he looks and a less then desirable partner in crime.
