Lion Dancers (2006)

While most know the art as dragon dancing, the costume is actually of a lion, traditionally warding off evil spirits for the coming New Year. Follow Michael Jee as he explains the skills needed for a six-hour long Lion Dance during the Lunar New Year parade in Chinatown. As generations pass on the tradition, this young teacher describes this martial arts-related art as a fading interest in the young generation.
