La toma de la Plaza (2005)

A blood offering to Mother Earth takes place every year in the region of Cotacachi Volcano in Ecuador. Once a year, for centuries, the two main indigenous communities have fought against each other at the main square of the city of Cotacachi. The aim is to conquer the square and to demonstrate the power of the indigenous people in a mestizo world.
