18 years after leaving his native land, Rod, a young Parisian of Guyanese origin, returns home after the disappearance of his older brother. Gonz, his childhood friend from the cities, is part of the trip. In Cayenne, the revelation of a painful family secret drives Rod on a frantic quest for the truth. He meets Yann, a young ecological tourism guide very upbeat against the misdeeds of illegal gold panning. All three will then be caught in a gear, drawn to the end of the river, in the heart of the Amazon rain forest, in the hostile and archaic environment of illegal miners.
