The sheer terror of being so exposed on the open ocean coupled with the horror of knowing that a man eating shark is nearby is very realistically conveyed in this film with almost unbearable levels of tension.
A turtle shell floats toward the group and it is turned around, revealing a decapitated turtle.
Everyone in the group has to decide if they want to risk swimming to an island and getting attacked by a shark or staying on a sinking boat and risk dehydrating.
When the shark first appears, there is a prolonged scene of it circling and terrorizing the group.
A scene shows Luke searching a capsized yacht. Loud banging is heard and it is very suspenseful and scary.
Luke swims to the opening of the yacht and a tuna swims past the screen quickly, meant to be a jump scene.
Luke looks underwater and a shark suddenly appears out of nowhere and attacks the group. This is a very scary moment.
The whole film is very intense and frightening.
