Everything is shown (a rock being used to break the bones, the tattered flesh of the legs, the legs being removed with the knife, the scalding pan used to seal the wounds.) A woman has to have vines cut out of her body with a knife, including a deep cut to the leg and the lower back, during which she howls in pain. The same woman later begins to remove more vines herself and is seen digging in a gaping leg wound trying to remove the vines. She has several other self-inflicted cuts on her forehead, stomach and arms (the act of creating those isn't shown.)

Rotting corpses are seen amongst the vines a few times.
