A team of European doctors and virologists try to track down the mysterious and lethal Ebola virus, responsible for the deaths of about 300 people in 1994 and another 30 in Gabon in early 1996. Although the deadly virus was detected first in 1976, and scientists know how it is transmitted to humans by chimpanzees, the question remains as to how chimpanzees acquire it in the first place.
