At the beginning of the 19th century Archduke Maximilian D'Este gave order to build a fortification around the city of Linz. This stronghold was disused a few years after its completion without facing any battles. In later years, a part of the construction got a whole different honor. The fort on top of the Pöstlingberg which surrounds a basilica was reopened and accommodates two of Upper Austrias biggest tourist attractions. The mountain station of the world's most precipitous adhesions railway the Pöstlingbergbahn and the enchanting fairy tale world of the Grottenbahn. This documentary takes a close look at the history of the Pöstlingberg and sheds new light at the Grottenbahn, which celebrated its 100th birthday in 2006.
