The Chatterley Affair (2006)

Many strong sex scenes are shown. Passages of D.H. Lawrence's book Lady Chatterley's lover a read aloud and these include the novel's most explicit scenes.

The scenes of strong sex contain some strong nudity. One of the first sees the young man and woman lying on a bed, with the man on top of her thrusting vigorously. He has removed his underpants and trousers but has kept his shirt on, and his bare behind is clearly seen. In another scene it is implied a woman is giving a man oral sex and he makes noises of pleasure.

In another scene the young man and woman decide to have anal sex (they talk about doing it before attempting it). Although they are undercovers, the film is strong in tone, and contains implied detail (such as when he first penetrates her and clearly finds the experience intense). The thrusts into her and grunts very loudly as he heads towards climax. When he reaches orgasm it looks as if the woman is near tears, though the scene is romantic and interesting in terms of the relationship rather than upsetting.

Very strong language, though spoken in a context of quotation rather than aggression or intention of causing offence. There is also two uses of homophobic language, but this is within the context of the period setting and the work as a whole does not encourage discriminatory attitudes.

Smoking is portrayed, though this is clearly shown to represent the period (1960s).
