Play-in-play about Dr. Korczak, the head of the Warsaw Ghetto orphanage who accompanied his children singing and laughing to the gas chamber, refusing to let them be frightened by their captors. TV adaptation of Sylvanus' 1957 stage play on the "Holocaust amnesia" that overtook many Germans during the economic upturn of the 1950s.
