There are several moderate sex scenes Mrs Lovett has sex with many men, Todd watches through a hole in the wall (Male bare backside is briefly shown and Mrs Lovett's bare back.)

There are many scenes of strong bloody violence which are very graphic. Other from the throat slittings, Todd cuts his father's tongue off (Blood is shown after the cut and a red stain is shown on his lower jaw the next morning. Some throat slittings show massive amounts of blood coming out of the slit and mouth while others simple stain the clothes. Mrs Lovett catches an STD and is covered in scars and boils for a period of time. Todd is also a doctor and performs several surgical operiations such as the removal of a bullet.
