Throughout the movie, Lara is shown to willingly use and enjoy violence, including using fists, guns and knives. However, she only kills when faced with no other choice, and tries to find non-violent means to solve conflicts. She is shown to be confident, athletic and assertive, and her actions, while initially selfish, become more altruistic as the film goes on. She is shown to have harmonious relationships with other cultures and is respectful of their traditions.
