No nudity, but Luther kisses his wife in bed and Katharina is shown rising up in bed when he is called away to an emergency. In Rome, prostitutes are openly solicting among clerics and Luther talks about how Rome has brothels there just for clerics. Luther's comic drawings show Catholic cardinals's buttocks as "asses". Tetzel boasts that with the indulgences that he sells, he can even save the soul of the man who "violates the Mother of God Herself".

A town is shown with many dead peasants' corpses (results of the Peasants War), a man (Ulrick) is shown with a camera pulled away being burned alive, an unhappy boy is shown hanging by his neck from suicide. A church is left full of dead bodies, another result of the Great Peasant's Revolt. Luther calls himself "a man of blood" when asked by Katharina why he is so hesitant to get married, as he expects to die a martyr's death. A man burns his hand and we see the burns when preaching about the fires of Hell to an audience of potentional indulgence buyers, rioting peasants attack monks and a priest in Wittenberg's church during one of the Peasants Revolt uprisings.

Multiple cuss words, mostly "damn," "hell," and one use of "shit" respectively.

None really, except people appear to drink wine (?) at Luther's wedding feast to Katharina Von Bora. Film starts with Luther lifting (and spilling) a chalice of wine while saying his first Mass and also serves wine to Communion receipients before his excommunication.

There is a portrayal of a young boy hanging himself. It is not graphic, and they do not show the actual suicide attempt, only his parents and Luther taking him down from the rope.

Violence by both sides of the Reformation. Tetzel talks about burning in Hell and also talks about burning Luther for his teachings. Luther shoves a flaming torch in the face of a rebel during an uprising to chase him away.
