Kirkby's Kingdom (1991)

For much of his life Ron Todd has kept his racing pigeons, show birds, rabbits, numerous dogs and cats, and has grown his vegetables on a field that his Auntie owns in Kirby Moorside, in North Yorkshire, where he lives. Now Ron has been made redundant from his job as a bin-man he's looking forward to spending his first free summer on his land. But as filmmaker Harriet Pacaud follows Ron through the year, changes to the old life in Kirkby and encroaching development threaten Ron's way of life.
