The film depicts a few sequences wherein prostitutes are seen with their bare breasts exposed in public places. This is an accurate portrayal of the film's historical setting. In one scene, a man is seen placing his hand upon a prostitute's breast for a split second, presumably about to solicit her services.

None of the violence is particularly gruesome.

In the first scene of the film, an innocent man is seized and violently thrown from a bridge into the river. However, he appears to be unharmed.

A sheep is gutted in the marketplace. It is quite brief but you can see trails of blood.

A man vomits in terror as he awaits his pending execution. This is in the climax of the film, and it is very intense though not graphic. See "Frightening/Intense scenes."
