Shame (1988)

When Tae-su finds a wad of money in an abandoned field, he leaves his island home and goes to Seoul. The money does not last long and Tae-su is soon forced to steal to survive. On the run from the police, he makes his way back home to find that his departure has driven his former girlfriend insane.
