There's a reference to Wilbur possibly becoming "tasty dinner" for humans, but it is never fully explained.
The scene where Farley takes Cardigan into the basement of an old farmhouse, and instead of eating him, he licks his lips and puts his tail on the latter who tries to run away, but is dragged by the former back is creepy.
Wilbur accidentally scares a ton of farm animals because of the branches, and mud on him he got from running around in the woods, which makes him look like a monster. This causes a huge ruckus, and some farmers to chase after him.
