Portrait of Menno Sypkens Smit, a Dutchman who has lived and worked for the last twenty years in Senegal. With the inhabitants he has developed small-scale projects to serve the community and which fit in with the local African way of life. From time to time he returns to Holland where he tries to collect money and goods for his projects.
