One Day, My Daddy... (1968)

During the Cold War, the daughter of the Prime Minister of an Eastern Bloc country is toying with the idea of defecting to the West. However, after a botched attempt to escape, she is apprehended by the authorities and is subjected to indoctrination in a psychiatric ward. The film is inspired by the defection to the U.S. of Iosif Stalin's daughter, Svetlana Alliluyeva.
