After witnessing a hideous crime in the dead of night, the ambitious and inquisitive young reporter, Alexis, has a chance encounter with the impoverished drifter, Marie. Already in a serious relationship with his girlfriend, Martha, little by little, Alexis senses a subtle change, finding himself falling desperately in love with his new protégé.
