Scarred for life by a hideous mark on her otherwise unblemished beautiful face, the young recluse, Christina, is absolutely convinced that no man will ever love her. Under those circumstances, the sour pessimist's only refuge in a life of self-imposed confinement is her regular and detailed correspondence with the well-spoken stranger, Stefanos, who seems to be the ideal partner. Head over heels for him, Christina will lose heart at the news of her long-distance platonic lover's arrival in town to finally meet with her--an action that causes an instinctive and unexpectedly emotional reaction.
