The Making of a New Empire (1999)

A documentary about Khozh-Akhmed Nukhaev, a warlord and a leader of the Chechen independence movement. It was made with the cooperation of Nukhaev, who tells his story of the independence movement. He travels to remote Chechen villages solving problems for the people, and also travels abroad to negotiate for the control of the trans-Caucasus oil pipeline and the rebuilding of Chechnya.
