Journey (1962)

Dreaming of breaking free from the shackles of social class, and the suffocating boundaries of her humble, poverty-stricken neighbourhood, sad Marina is at the end of her tether. Unable to find solace not even in her own home, Marina shares her hopes and inner desires with the ridiculed grizzled seaman, Manolis, and the perpetually inebriated Russian outcast, Grigoris. Then, a chance encounter with the handsome and charming young plumber, Stefanos, sets in motion a series of radical changes, and just like that, Marina becomes the luckiest girl in the world. However, even though Marina is convinced that she's about to turn the page, Stefanos is harbouring a shocking secret; one that threatens to destroy her newfound happiness.
