With an ardent desire to clear his father's name, the weather-beaten seaman, Andreas, returns to his island, intent on claiming back the family's seaworthy fishing boat. However, the islanders and Captain Yannis--the rugged mariner responsible for the death of Andreas' father, and the island's most powerful and influential man--do not take kindly to his return, knowing that from now on, the competition will be fierce. In the meantime, an unforeseen romantic affair with the beautiful stranger, Marina, is bound to further complicate matters, as Yannis' right-hand man, Stavros, is already head over heels in love with her.
