a man is beaten badly with the butt of a rifle and then has a hatchet thrown into his head. we see the hatchet sticking out of his head with blood dripping out of the wound.

some characters smoke and drink. not much.

a small baby's mother is killed in front of him and he's then shot off screen. the scalping scene and other moments of violence may be disturbing.
