Greece, 1948. Police takes into custody leftist journalist, Aimos Vagenas, for the murder of his American colleague George Polk. Polk was supposed to interview Markos Vafeiadis, leading figure of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) during the Greek Civil War. The night before the interview Polk leaves his hotel room and after then he disappears. After a few days police finds his dead body into the sea. Vagenas guilt couldn't prove true and he is released. He starts to investigate the case while questions about Polk's death are still unanswered.
