There is a lot of talking about who sleeps with whom including some love affairs by married people. Woman calls her daughter-in-law a "wh**e."

During one of their regular weekend liasions, married man and married woman involved in a long-term affair, kiss passionately while lying on the floor of a motel room. Sex was implied but instead they leave together.

For a brief sequence, there is a bare back of a woman to be seen while she changes. Beyond cleavage and a man lifting his shirt in the street revealing his torso to a group of women, there is no other nudity, either male or female.

For a movie that old, there is some strong violence included.

A man is beaten and then hit with a stone on the back of his head. This happens off-screen but the bloody stone is seen afterwards.

A woman get slapped by her husband.

The same black man is threatened and hit with a gun (off-screen).

Except some people saying 'hell' there is no profanity.

There is a lot of drinking and therefore also a lot of drunk people which resolves in bad behaviour. Some people smoke infrequently.

The setting and how the movie builds up its tension is somewhat uncomfortable. This leads to a real intense finale including the last three violent scenes mentionend above in the 'violence & gore' section. The ending is quite depressing, especially in the way most of the people are portrayed.
