Widower Robert Stegemann and his daughter are living happily together. But what Robert doesn't know is that Brigitte only lacks the courage to tell her loving father she's getting married. And she's running out of time, her fiancé Jochen is leaving for South America in six weeks to start working there. Accidentally, Robert finds out about Brigitte's and Jochen's plans and is so hurt that he refuses to bless their union...
