Between Time and Eternity (1956)

Nina Bohlen, married to a professor, learns that she is going to die shortly from an illness. She leaves her husband and embarks on an adventure in Spain, where she falls in love with fisherman Manuel, a thief. But when she wants to settle down with him for good, she is struck by the disease and travels home with her husband to die.
