She tries to convince his doctor to come up with a reason to not allow him to come along. The doctor confidently assures her that he is doing fine and it will do him some good to get a change of scenery. This makes the woman angry. When her husband comes in she states that the doctor has good news and the boy can come with them. They decide to call him to inform him of the news. The wife insists on making the call (attempting to give both her husband and the doctor the impression that she is happy about this while she is really very angry).
