Jinx Page (Gloria Jean), infatuated with drummer/singer Ricky O'Bannion (Mel Tormé), comes in for some tough times after orchestra leader Bob Crosby (Bob Crosby) tells singer Dixie Moore (Marjorie Weaver) to flirt with Ricky so he will sign a contract with the band.
