Biskoppen (1944)

Rumors are swirling about the priest and widower Adam on Snarø: The housekeeper is pregnant, and the gossip increases when his beautiful new manager, Ellen, moves in. On the way to the island, Ellen's father, Emil, is mistaken for the bishop of the parish, and Emil, who is actually an actor, sees this as a welcome opportunity to shake things up in the small community.
