Loosely based on the story of Melissa Weaver, who contracted a rare form of cancer at age 10. Her father loses his job when he takes too much time off from work to care for his family. Enraged, both Melissa and her father decide to fight to change the law that allowed him to be fired. A primary role came in the form of the President of the United States of America, Bill Clinton, who signed the Family and Medical Leave Act that ensured that no other family would need to go through what the Weavers did.
