Aves Sem Ninho (1939)

A 16-year-old orphan, raised in an orphanage with inhuman treatment, is adopted by a teacher who hears her complaints when visiting the site. At the age of 24 and graduated in Social Sciences, the so-called Vitória do Santos decides to pursue the rights of so many girls who suffer in nursing homes throughout the city. It seeks to implement more humane and modern methods and, for that, it needs to overcome a lot of conservative resistance.
